It all began with a crate, a confused pup, and two very overwhelmed humans.
Back in 2018, my partner and I were relocating from Ontario to British Columbia. Simple move, right? Not when you’re trying to bring your dog along. That’s when we met the tangled world of pet travel.
Phone call after phone call. Conflicting airline rules. Vague requirements. More questions than answers. And not a single clear path to follow.
We weren’t looking for magic — just someone to make sense of it all. But all we got was stress and spreadsheets.
After hours of digging, dozens of dead ends, and a lot of trial and error, we finally got Jasper — our beloved pup — on that flight. Safe, calm, and (to our surprise) completely unfazed.
We, on the other hand, were exhausted.
But that was the moment it clicked: Why does pet travel have to be this complicated?

We figured if we struggled this much, others probably were too. So we started writing things down — airline policies, prep checklists, helpful tips, even the little stuff we wished someone had told us.
What began as a scrappy Google Doc turned into a mission:
Make pet travel simple. Period.
And just like that, Pets, Let’s Travel was born.
